This winter, we’re hosting Twin Cities native Kai Thao, a second year Physician Assistant student from Augsburg University in Minneapolis. Kai shared a little more about herself for our community to get to know her better, and her interest in pursuing chronic pain and addiction medicine.
Q: What are you hoping to focus on during your rotation at VMW this month?
A: I am excited to be at VMW and to learn from everybody during my time here. I am most interested in the addiction medicine treatment of chemical, opioid, and alcohol dependency, but I am eager to gain knowledge in all areas of care for a well-rounded experience at VMW.
Q: What interests you most about addiction medicine?
A: This is only my third rotation, so I am still exploring what I am interested in. So far, I have been enjoying everything! I am looking forward to continuing to build on my previous experiences.
Q: Where are you hoping to land after you graduate?
A: I plan to stay local after graduation.
Q: Do you have any hobbies outside of school/work?
A: Outside of school, I enjoy doing yoga, helping out at my parent’s restaurant, cooking, and being outside in nature with my pitbull, Thor.
Be sure to say hi if you see Kai at the clinic this winter!
